The Books I Read in 2020

At the beginning of 2020 I decided to keep a tally of all that I read in the year.  I also keep a list of book recommendations on my phone, and was hoping to make some headway on it.  I don't buy books very often, I prefer to utilize the public library, so sometimes I'd have to wait for the one I wanted but I was ok with that.  Then covid hit, and the stay home mandate kicked in.  I hadn't made a trip to the library, but had been meaning to, so was out of luck on getting some more books to tide me over.  I should say, I'm not a fast reader AT ALL.  But every so often I can zip through a book in a week or two.  Anyways, I eventually read every book in the house, even the cookbooks.  And even ventured to the Free Little Library that I passed on Kea's daily dog walk to find something different, read that too.  Got a few books from friends, contactless delivery of course, read those. So the idea of reading what I wanted was long out the window.  So, this is an unexpected list of what I read in 2020.

  • Watching You by Lisa Jewel
  • Every Breath You Take by Mary Higgins Clark
  • You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay

Quarantine

  • Light is the New Black by Rebecca Campbell
  • Reflections (a Brodie Farrell Mystery) by Jo Bannister
  • The Seven Spiritual Laws by Deepak Chopra
  • The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica
  • Over The Top by Jonathon Van Ness
  • Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
  • Our House by Louise Candlish
  • The 18th Abduction (women's murder club) by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro
  • Six Years by Harlan Coben
  • The Big Dreams Beach Hotel by Lilly Bartlett
  • Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer
  • The 19th Christmas (women's murder club) by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro

So the genres I like, murder/thriller, women investigations, self help, and spiritual, with a little bit of fluff.  I really enjoyed trying some different books that I wouldn't normally gravitate towards, like the women's murder club series by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro.  I've borrowed a couple from a friend to try out more of them in 2021.  I've never read so many books in one year, like ever.
